Anyone can draw; all it takes is a pencil, paper and a little practice. The Drawing Mentor series of books breaks down drawing into simple easy to understand subjects. Each lesson is filled with detailed explanations, examples and exercises.
Volume 13 is an advanced lesson that uses skills developed in previous lessons to do a finished portrait drawing. This lesson will explain what a portrait is and things to consider when attempting one. A detailed example with step by step instructions then guides you to complete your own portrait drawing (Note This lesson assumes you have already developed some basic fundamental drawing skills. Before attempting this lesson it is recommended that you first learn and understand sketching and layout, and how to apply tone, shading, and highlights. If you have not developed these skills please refer to previous volumes.)
For those just learning to draw, we recommend starting at the beginning of the series, if you’ve already developed fundamental drawing skills the later lessons with their more advanced step by step projects may be more appropriate. There are currently 16 books in the Drawing Mentor series with subjects ranging from simple lines and 3D shapes, to realistic portrait drawing and dragons.
We hope that the lessons, examples and practice exercises in the Drawing Mentor books will give you the foundation you need to be able to draw anything you can see or imagine.

LOVE the concept and it fit comfortable on arm but Your iPhone will not fit in the pocket unless you remove it from all protected covers. Your covers get distorted from so much on and off. Everyone I know has covers/ cases on their phones. Needs new design.
Thorough and detailed.
I actually don't think this book is flawless or without room for improvement, but I was surprised by the other lackluster reviews for it. I'm giving it five stars to help compensate for that. It isn't fair.
This author tries diligently to try to actually teach and educate. After wading through a sea of truly dreadful drawing books on , which are written by people who can't seem draw at all, or by artists who are woefully overestimating their artistic and writing "skills," this book was a breath of fresh air.
Like I said, it's not perfect. But at least it's genuine. The author earnestly tries to instruct.
The delivery was quick and the product would be better for someone who is looking for an advanced drawing book.
If you are looking for that then get this book.
These books are ok, and worth the lower price I paid for the kindle. I do not think I would buy the paper version. Since I often buy on kindle first and buy paper if I think I could use as a daily reference,
